Warranty Info and Returned Goods Policy

SUPERIOR ENGINEERING WARRANTY 

 

​

ATTACHMENT WARRANTY

 

Superior Engineering warrants its lift truck attachments to be free of defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service for one year from the date of delivery to the original purchaser.

 

Superior Engineering’s warranty liability is limited solely to the repair or replacement of any part or equipment returned to our plant, freight prepaid, and determined by us to be defective. Superior Engineering shall not be liable for consequential or incidental damages under any circumstances.

 

Except for the removal of defective parts and replacement with parts supplied by Superior Engineering, the warranty for any part or equipment will be void if an attempt is made by anyone to alter, repair, or disassemble the item without the authority of Superior Engineering.

 

Superior Engineering makes no other warranty of any kind whatsoever, expressed or implied, and all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and all claims based on misuse, negligence, strict liability, improper maintenance, or otherwise, are hereby disclaimed by Superior Engineering and excluded from this agreement.

 

 

SUPERIOR ENGINEERING’S WARRANTY POLICY WILL BE ADMINISTERED UNDER THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES:

 

Labor

The warranty policy provides for payment of warranty labor, on new attachments, at 70% of the dealer’s published retail labor rate.  Therefore, your labor must be included in each claim.   Labor hours paid will be limited by Superior Engineering’s standard labor time schedule unless a Superior Engineering service representative obtains prior approval for deviation.

 

Parts

Parts are 100% of the actual cost.  Field repairs are restricted to the repair and replacement of Superior Engineering parts. Any parts not supplied by Superior must be approved prior to use.

Any modification to Superior parts, including welding, grinding, drilling, etc., must receive prior written permission from Superior Engineering before doing so.

 

Modifications

Lift truck modification for various attachment applications are not considered warranty.

 

Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting time over one hour must have the prior approval of a Superior Engineering service representative.

 

Travel

Travel time over one hour must have the prior approval of a Superior Engineering service representative. Online mapping is used to verify travel time.  Origination and destination address must be provided on the warranty claim.

 

Excessive Warranty

Warranty repair will not be honored for amounts exceeding the cost of the attachment or accessories.

 

Claims

Superior Engineering’s warranty claim form must be used to submit claims. Any warranty sent to Superior Engineering on normal invoices will be returned.

The warranty claim form should be completed accurately and with as much detail as possible.

In those cases where Superior Engineering has supplied components/accessories not manufactured by Superior Engineering, the original manufacturer’s warranty will apply.

Returning an Item

The items must be unused and in the same condition as received.

List of Returned Items or notated on the Invoice Copy

Return Deadline

Returns should be made within 30 calendar days of the receipt of the item and will follow the refund policy listed on the following pages. If the return is after 30 calendar days, a standard 20% restocking charge will apply across the board regardless of the non-defective goods policy.  No returns are accepted after 90 days.

 

Freight

If the goods were ordered and are not needed or were ordered incorrectly, then the buyer will send back the items freight prepaid.  If goods are defective/problem goods, Superior Engineering Inc. will determine whether goods should be returned freight prepaid or by Superiors UPS number.

 

Issuing Credit

Upon receipt of the material, a credit will be issued at the purchase price, less the restocking charge and any freight charges and associated fees.

 If the invoice has not been paid, Superior will credit the dealer, and then the dealer applies that credit to the unpaid invoice.

If the invoice has been paid, a credit will be given, which will be applied to future invoices.

If the purchase was made by Credit Card, a credit would be issued to the credit card.

 

Any returned product(s) deemed unusable for any reason by Superior Engineering, Inc. will be immediately disposed of, and no credit will be issued.

Superior Engineering’s Non-Defective Goods Policy

 

Parts and Accessories

 

Normally Stocked Items - $25 processing fee + all freight

Full credit for the parts will be issued within 30 days of receipt of the parts.  A $25 processing fee will apply, which will be deducted from the credit amount.  If freight was prepaid and added to the bill, the obligation to pay all incurred freight will be on the purchaser, and a credit will be adjusted accordingly.  Note: Having certain items on hand and ready for immediate shipment does not necessarily mean these are normally stocked items.

Non-Stocked Items – 30% + all freight

A 30% restocking fee will apply.

Non-Stocked Machined Parts - 50% + all freight

A 50% restocking fee applies. This includes special machined parts for non-standard models or lift truck modifications that are not stock items.

 

Manufactured Products

 

Standard Small Mechanical Items – 15% + all freight

Standard mechanical items are catalog items such as standard ram poles, standard fork extensions six inches wide and under, and the telescoping boom model number TB-8. 15%

 

Standard Large Mechanical Items – 35% + all freight

Standard large mechanical items are catalog items such as ram poles over 3.5 inches in diameter, fork extensions over six inches wide, any coil ram, work platforms, fork frames, false carriages, and any boom other than model TB-8.

 

Die Handler Attachments – No restock

Non-Defective Die Handlers are not returnable.

 

Roloader Attachments – Per below + all freight

Standard Roloaders sizes from 18-24” wide and under 66.00” in length will require a 30% restocking fee.

Special Roloaders sizes over 24” in width or Longer than 66.00” will require a 50% restocking fee.

Special design Roloaders are non-returnable

 

Turret Master Attachments

Standard Turret Master Attachments with model number THG5-3-4848 can be returned.  The stipulation is that the turret must not be worn and must be in excellent shape/like new conditions, and should be under 10 hours of service for a 20% restocking fee plus a fixed frame fee of $600 will be applied.  In addition, the unit will be inspected, and Superior Engineering will apply the determination of usage. Any Turret over 10 hours or with a model number other than THG5-3-4848 will not be accepted. For authorized returns, the unit must be removed, palletized, and secured to the pallet. All hoses must be capped and freight prepaid F.O.B. Destination.

 

Special Designs – No restock

Any manufactured product that requires an approval drawing to accompany the order before manufacturing is not eligible for restocking.  If modifications can be made to make the unit usable, then Superior can address the appropriate charges and freight arrangements at that time.

 

Defective or Problem Goods Policy

Customers must call Superior Engineering, Inc. to receive an RGA number. Superior Engineering Inc. will determine whether goods should be returned freight prepaid or by Superiors UPS number. If necessary, replacement goods will be shipped upon receipt after inspection of returned goods. Where necessary, a credit will be issued for the total purchase price.

Superior Engineering Broken Weld and Structure Policy

 

3-Year Weld and Structure Guarantee Warranty

The structure and weld are covered under our warranty policy for three years with full coverage for repair or replacement as deemed fit by Superior Engineering as long as there is no evidence of abuse.

If a weld or structural member breaks during this warranty period for up to three years beyond the ship date from Superior, Superior will repair the unit for the customer at no charge.  The customer must pre-pay freight to Superior, and Superior will cover freight back to the customer.

OR

If the customer decides to have a local certified welder perform the repair work, then the customer will assume the cost incurred, and Superior Engineering will not be held liable for the repair work performed.

A release will be signed and returned below.

 

4-Year Weld and Structure Policy

At the 4-year mark, there is a limited warranty. 

If a weld or structure breaks after this warranty period for up to 4 years beyond the ship date from Superior, Superior will repair the unit for the customer at two-thirds of the labor rate.  The customer must pre-pay freight to Superior, and Superior will pre-pay and add freight back to the customer.

OR

If the customer decides to have a local certified welder perform the repair work, then the customer will assume the cost incurred, and Superior Engineering will not be held liable for the repair work performed.

A release will be signed and returned below.

 

5-Year Policy

There is no warranty against weld or structural breakage after the 5-year mark.
